Paladins are holy warriors who call upon the gods to channel divine spells and strength of arms in the fight against evil and the undead. They are a primarily defensive melee class, able to wear plate armor, wield many kinds of weapons, and access divine magic.
Paladins are able fighters and battlefield healers. They supplement their melee combat fortitude with the ability to stun and smite foes as well as increase the health and armor of allies. Each day, paladins are gifted by the gods, with the ability to Lay Hands on one person. Lay Hands is a powerful heal, prized for its potential to recover a seemingly doomed battle.
Powerful paladins are a great force against evil and eventually gain special abilities to smite undead foes and even resurrect slain allies.
Errant paladins may brave the dangers of Norrath alone, provided they have sufficient equipment and knowledge. Used to its full potential the paladin's toolkit is substantial, however it is most potent as the bedrock foundation of an adventuring party. Players who like to engage in melee combat but want the option to cast modest heals and buffs may find paladins a great class to play.
