Entry #1: My maid Salbia is becoming increasingly bothersome. Despite my repeated requests to dine with her daughter, Palsha, she refuses to let me. This is my house and I will do what I like. Palsha will be mine one way or another.

Entry #2: I fear I have gone too far. Today when I asked Salbia to have her daughter dine with me, she refused my request yet again. In a fit of uncontrollable rage, I threw a candelabra at Salbia and struck her in the head. She now lies dead at my feet. What have I done? I must find a way to cover this up.

Entry #3: Today while hunting on the grounds, I shot a great elk. This gave me an idea to come up with as an alibi. I forced the body of Salbia onto the horns of the elk. I will simply tell anyone who inquires that the elk killed her and that I killed the elk to try to save her.

Entry #3: The locals do not appear to believe my story involving the elk and Salbia, but nobody has outright refuted my claim as of yet. It matters not; today I will take custody of Palsha. My desires will finally be fulfilled and I will marry Palsha in a grand ceremony.

Entry #4: Palsha refuses to be mine. She has locked herself in her room and refuses to be at my side. This is infuriating beyond all measure.

Entry #5: I awoke near midnight to the most horrifying scene I have ever witnessed. Palsha was in front of the mirror in the parlor and was chanting her mother's name. Salbia appeared as a hideous apparition in the mirror and told Palsha not to turn around, for she could not stand to be seen in such a state. Palsha did not obey and turned around. The apparition appeared behind the daughter and what happened next is almost indescribable in its horror. I fled the house. I write this as I hide in the woods.

Entry #6: I have finally summoned enough courage to return home. Words cannot describe the condition of the house. Blood covers the walls and all my servants and animals have been viciously slain. Palsha is nowhere to be seen. This is my fault.

Entry #7: I have been sitting here for days, just staring at the mirror. I fear I am losing my sanity. The mirror whispers to me. It beckons me to say Salbia's name three times every night when the clock chimes midnight. I wish to atone for my heinous crime, but after I witnessed what Salbia's apparition did, I cannot summon the courage to speak to the mirror.

Entry #8: I have decided to confront Salbia in the mirror. I know not what will happen. Gods protect my soul.
