…The Combine knew their land well and went to great efforts to extract the most valuable resources from it. Some of their greatest geomancers took to what is now the Darkened Sea to raise sections of the sea floor for harvesting purposes. These raised platforms were once known as the Combine Dredge.

…Marnek spent many years of his life at the forefront of a reign of terror on Norrath. Perhaps his greatest enemies were the paladins of Prexus, the Oceanlord. They fought many battles and it was thought that the paladins put an end to Marnek -- and that is where the legend begins and the truth became veiled.

It was during King Gkar's reign when Brell decided he alone could not break Veeshans grasp on the world of Norrath. Brell met with Tunare, Prexus, and Rallos Zek and told them of Veeshans New World. Brell kept the source of his information about the world a secret as he made a pact with the gathered Gods.

…It was near the base of this tower that Nipik had found the one he had been searching for – the creature known as Lodizal, a mighty turtle empowered by Prexus himself. …The Dragon Sage says 'Tunare, the Mother of All, Prexus, the Oceanlord and Brell Serilis, the Duke of Below formed a pact in response to Veeshan's claim to Norrath. The elves, the dwarves, and the aquatic kedge were all created to help keep the dragons in check. Rallos Zek, the Warlord, learned of this pact and created the giants. This began the Elder Age.

Marnek was the leader of a small cult of necromancers who worshipped Solusek Ro. Marnek used this dagger in his ceremonial sacrifices to the Burning Prince to increase his own power and show his loyalty to his god. His cult grew stronger and word of the evil acts spread all over Antonica.

…The Hammer of Below begins amidst the conflict of the unworthy. It is a relic whose path led through the abyssal lair of the last child of the Ocean Lord. It is within that hold, a prison of Prexus some would say, that the omega did vie with the intellect. This battle of egos will someday begin the mortal quest of The Stormhammer.

…Reyia Beslin says 'Marnek Jaull led a cult of necromancers who followed the Burning Prince, Solusek Ro. He built an army, known as the Burning Dead, and spread destruction and fire throughout Antonica. Over the years, the Burning Dead fought many fierce and bloody battles with the paladins of Prexus, the Oceanlord.
