These Kedge have suffered greatly in their history and now are the last of their kind. It is true that we protected these Kedge from their many enemies in Faydwer, even Phinigel Autropos.
Villigelu told me of their history and how Phinigel thought to make them all immortal, but at the cost of their very souls. They would never agree.
The Kedge were nearly extinct when we offered them refuge. Only through a magic of their own were they able to survive the transition for Dagnor's Cauldron without dying. They still use that age-old magic today to live among the landwalkers.
There is so much to learn from them still, but I fear we may have lost our ability to do so forever. Since they discovered our own researcher had tortured several of their kind, they have closed off to us. I continue to extend my hand in friendship as a true student of the Kedge, but they refuse it, understandably.
My recommendation is to close down our research facility in Thalassius immediately. Perhaps in time we can return later and gain their trust.
Sincerely,
Vorenis Sevilla, Second Researcher, Kindred Order of Knowledge Collegium of Kedge

…Back while unraveling the secrets behind the demise of the Kedge, I confronted Phinigel Autropos, the last survivor of his kind. While speaking with him and enduring his ill-tempered threats and warnings toward me, I noticed coral-like ore on the reef of his domain.
