Into the Depths of: Eldaar Forest Overview
Today, the once great city of Takish Hiz lies in crumbled ruins. The once majestic forest city succumbed to the fury of Solusek Ro's wrathful sun, leaving sand and ruins behind.
In ancient days, the city of Takish Hiz nestled in the heart of the Elddar Forest. The elves who inhabited this lush forest are the ancestors of today's high and wood elves. Adventurers can see the influences of these ancestors throughout the high elf and wood elf cities even now.
Tunare has enlisted the aid of Karana and Druzzil Ro to send adventurers back to this city in order to reclaim lost knowledge to aid in the fight against Mayong Mistmoore.
Background Lore
Tunare, the goddess of Nature, saw a lush forest and fertile land on a great continent in Norrath. She eagerly and lovingly created a race of elves and settled them into the dense forest. Those elves, who came to call themselves the Elddar, prospered quickly and greatly. And while Tunare watched her children with pleasure and pride, other gods came to notice the new world. These gods soon realized they received no invitation to be part of Norrath's development and were not so enamored of those who had. One god who took particular offense was Innoruuk, the Prince of Hate.

Ages of Norrath The last of the old races to decline was the empire of the Elves.
The Elddar Forest, the Elven realm of old, spread across the entire southeastern quarter of Tunaria. Tree communities and marble cities were built in the forest's clearings and meadows, their white towers and spires climbing out of the forest, higher than the tallest tree.
Legends say this prosperity drew the jealousy of Solusek Ro, Lord of Flame. He arched the spine of the serpent mountains, bringing heat from the burning sun to the ancient forest.
The rivers ran dry, it rained less each year, and while the great elven druids fought long and hard, using their powerful magics to combat the change, they could only delay the inevitable.
Slowly the forest gave way to desert, and eventually even the fair Elven city Takish-Hiz crumbled and the elves were forced to flee Tunaria, leaving much of their greatness behind.
After the fall of the Combine Empire, the remnants of mankind dwelled mostly in the center of Tunaria, inhabiting primarily the vast and fertile plains of Karana. Villages appeared and prospered, several reaching the size of towns, and two even became cities.
To the west a strong and noble band of Humans, lead by Antonius Bayle the First, founded Qeynos under the lofty principles of law.

Veldyn's Elven Tale
Veldyn was an ordinary Elddar. She lived her long life in peace in the Elddar forest, weaving silk and tending the wounded. She was young in the terms of her people and well loved by all. There was a festival the day that the world ended -- the day Solusek Ro's jealousy brought an end to Elddar prosperity. The trees were filled with glowing wisps.

…Even with his deed done, Solusek Ro's magic continued to course through the stone and earth through magma that had its own life. The conscious element of the magma bears the name Magmaraug. The magma was left behind to continue the drought in the old Elddar Forest and ensure that no forest would ever grow where the Elddar Forest and elves once lived.

Coming to Kunark
…Long, long ago, there was a huge elven society living within the Elddar Forest on the continent of Antonica. It was a magical, life-giving forest. They cared for it, and it cared for them.
